Dr. Benjamin Chua obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore, followed by a Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Research (MHSc) from Duke University School of Medicine in 2003. He earned membership and later fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCSEd, FRCSed) in General Surgery in 2008 and is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS). Dr. Benjamin Chua currently serves as the Honorary Secretary of the College of Surgeons, Singapore. He underwent advanced vascular training under the mentorship of Professor Michael Denton, a global expert in aortic stent grafts and fenestrated devices, and served as an Honorary Clinical Fellow in Vascular Surgery at St Vincent’s and Epworth Hospitals in Melbourne from 2009 to 2010. His international training was supported by the Singapore Ministry of Health–NHG Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellowship Award. He is also a Founding Member of the Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons of Singapore.

Prior to Private Practice

Before entering private practice, Dr. Benjamin Chua was the Founding Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery at Singapore General Hospital. He was appointed Deputy Director for Device Development under the Academic Clinical Programme in Surgery and served as a member of the SingHealth Centralised Institutional Review Board. He also contributed to medical education as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the National University of Singapore.

Awards & Achievements

Dr. Benjamin Chua has received multiple accolades throughout his career, including the prestigious Singapore National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Fellowship Training Award in 2001 and the MOH-NHG HMDP Award in 2009 to pursue subspecialty training in Advanced Endovascular Surgery in Melbourne, Australia. He has also been the recipient of competitive research grants from A*STAR/SERC and SMART. In recognition of his contributions to healthcare and patient care, he has been honored with the SingHealth Heart of Gold Award as well as the Singapore Health Care Quality Gold and Silver Awards.

Dr. Chen Min Qi graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 2005. Prior to Private Practice

Before transitioning into private practice, Dr. Chen Min Qi held several key appointments. He served as an Occupational Therapy Committee Member and Junior Manpower Organisational Lead at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. In 2020, he was appointed Head of the Vascular Service at Woodlands Health, where he also served as an Executive Committee Member of the multi-disciplinary diabetic foot workgroup. He contributed to medical education as a clinical tutor at both Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS) and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU), and actively supported academic advancement as a reviewer for the International Wound Journal. In addition, he co-chaired the Woodlands Health INSPIRE 2022 Congress on the ‘Holistic Management of Diabetic Foot Disease’ and is a member of the Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons of Singapore (SVESS).

Awards & Achievements

Dr. Chen Min Qi was awarded the prestigious Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) grant by the Ministry of Health, enabling him to pursue advanced subspecialty training in Vascular Surgery at the internationally renowned St Mary’s Hospital in London, United Kingdom.

Dr Yong Ren graduated from the National University of Singapore’s Medical faculty and embarked on his orthopaedic career soon after. Upon completion of his training locally, he served briefly as an orthopaedic trauma surgeon in Khoo Teck Puat hospital before embarking on sub-specialty training in Switzerland at the famed Inselspital in Bern.

He underwent sub-specialty training in pelvic and spinal surgery, and upon his return to Singapore served as head of the orthopaedic trauma team till 2019. He continues to serve as Visiting Consultant to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Well versed in a variety of orthopaedic surgeries, he also served as a member of the country council for the local branch of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (Trauma) in Singapore. He was also involved in the training of many of the young doctors in Singapore and was appointed as an Assistant Professor by the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Prior to his entry into the private sector, he also served as core faculty for orthopaedic resident training by the National Healthcare Group.

Dr Yong Ren brings to the table his years of experience as a teacher and trainer in orthopaedic surgery. With his expertise in minimally invasive fracture surgery, pelvic reconstructive surgery, hip and knee surgery as well as spinal surgery, he is uniquely equipped with the tools and expertise necessary to help you on your road to recovery.

Dr Caroline Low is a proactive ageing physician, with a keen interest in screening, medicine and therapy to help one age gracefully and naturally. Her other specialties include managing conditions relating to mental wellness, menopause, andropause, burnout, unexplained fatigue, metabolic syndrome, poor gut, leaky gut, and food sensitivity or intolerance.

With 30 years of experience as a general practitioner, she believes that “age is inevitable, ageing is not”. In 1991, Dr Low graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and she has been a fellow of the American Board of Anti-ageing and Rejuvenation Medicine since 2007. She obtained a fellowship with the Australasian Academy of Anti-ageing Medicine in 2010.

Dr Low is currently a fellowship lecturer with the Australasian Academy of Anti-Ageing, Regenerative, and Functional Medicine in Melbourne and serves as a Board Examiner for the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Dr. Irene Gay is a General Practitioner and obtained her basic medical degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, and has lived a total of 14 years in Sydney where she worked in the New South Wales health system, before returning back to Singapore to be with her family.

After returning to Singapore, Dr. Gay rotated through the public healthcare system and was further qualified with a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine from National University of Singapore and a Postgraduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University. She has worked in the Aeromedical Center where she screened for the fitness of aviation personnel in the Air Force. As a Designated Medical Examiner for the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, she evaluated commercial pilots in determining their fitness to renew their pilot license. She has also worked in the Ministry of Manpower where she was trained in occupational health and safety.

Dr. Gay has extensive experience in health screening and has also worked as a primary care doctor in staff clinics of multinational companies and also public hospitals.

Early detection of diseases can significantly improve long-term health outcomes. For example, diagnosing and treating high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol early can prevent strokes and heart disease, while early detection of cancers like breast, cervical, or colon cancer can save lives through timely treatment. Dr. Gay keeps up to date with current screening guidelines through regular medical education sessions. This enables her to guide her patients on selecting the latest appropriate screening tests and recommend screening intervals for them based on their ages, history and risk profiles.

A keen believer in health span rather than lifespan per se, she focuses on empowering patients with the knowledge to stay healthy. She provides guidance on lifestyle changes such as diet, nutrition, exercise, and stress management to help patients lead healthier, longer lives. As vaccines play an important role in keeping healthy, Dr. Gay also keeps abreast with the latest available vaccines and promotes them where indicated.

Dr Choo Su Pin is a medical oncologist who specializes in gastrointestinal cancers including colorectal, upper gastrointestinal, pancreas, hepatobiliary, peritoneal, and anal cancers with more than 20 years of experience.

Prior to joining private practice, Dr Choo was the Deputy head of the division of medical oncology and Chief of the gastrointestinal cancer department at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). She is currently a visiting consultant there.

Dr Choo graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School, UK. She has fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians, UK and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and was trained in medical oncology at NCCS. She was one of a few overseas participants selected to participate in the AACR/ASCO methods in cancer research workshop held in Vail. She also did a research fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, USA where she worked on clinical trials for gastrointestinal cancers and undertook laboratory research on understanding neuroendocrine tumours. Dr Choo obtained a SMU-SingHealth graduate diploma in healthcare management and leadership.

At NCCS, she was a senior consultant in the division of medical oncology and co-director of the comprehensive liver cancer clinic. She was a driver of many initiatives and was instrumental in setting up the experimental cancer therapeutics unit at NCCS which focuses on drug development and early-phase oncology trials. She has led many clinical trials in gastrointestinal cancers and was deputy head of clinical trials and epidemiological sciences department of NCCS, before she became chair of the clinical trials steering committee.

Dr Choo also set up the gastrointestinal database at NCCS and was adjunct principal investigator at the SingHealth investigational medicine unit. She is a member of the Asia-Pacific hepatocellular cancer trials workgroup and was in the steering committee for the AHCC006 trial which was an international multicenter clinical trial on liver cancer led from Singapore. Research areas of particular interest include pancreatic-hepatobiliary cancers and immuno-oncology. She has received grant awards for her research work as principal investigator and as co-investigator.

She continues to use her experience in clinical research and currently serves as deputy chair of the SingHealth’s central institutional review board which oversees approval of oncology trials in the SingHealth network.

She has published in journals like Lancet, Nature Genetics, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Oncology and Cancer Discovery and has also presented her research work at numerous overseas meetings.

Besides her clinical work, Dr Choo is an adjunct associate professor, SingHealth Duke-NUS oncology academic clinic programme, Duke-NUS Medical School. She was an adjunct associate professor, department of medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She has also organised numerous oncology conferences including the Best of ASCO in Singapore, Asia-Pacific Liver Cancer Experts Meeting and the Asia-Pacific Gastroenterology Cancer Summit. She was the local chair of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) Asia conference in Singapore and co-chaired the ESMO preceptorship in gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr Choo serves as the Asst Bursar in the Academy of Medicine of Singapore where she is also the honorary secretary of the Chapter of Medical Oncology. She is currently a council member in the Singapore Cancer Society and chairs the Cancer Research committee and the Community Partnership committee while also being a member of the Community Health committee. She was the first female president of the Singapore Society of Oncology (SSO) and was the immediate past president. She is a founding member of the SSO-cancer immunotherapy consortium.

Internationally, Dr Choo has served on advisory boards of pharmaceutical companies for gastrointestinal cancer drug development, delivered lectures as an invited speaker at both national and international conferences. She continues to teach trainee oncologists and other oncologists in her field of GI cancers. She has also been involved in guideline development for cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma and pancreas cancer locally and in the Asia-Pacific region.

She is a faculty member for lower GI track in the European Society of Medical Oncology till 2025 and also serves as a member in the ESMO women for oncology committee, which advocates for women in the field of oncology.

She is a recipient of the Gold Excellence Service Award and the National Covid-19 Award in 2022.

Dr John Chia graduated with double distinctions in Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 1999, and obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh in 2002. Early on in his career, he was actively engaged with the then nascent field of immunotherapy for solid cancers, and heavily involved with the leadership or development of 7 immunotherapy clinical trials in Singapore. Post Oncology Boards in 2008 and 2009, he undertook fellowship training with Professor Malcom Brenner – in the field of Immunotherapy for Solid Tumours – namely in the development of dendritic cancer vaccines, adoptive T cell therapy, and immune biomarker monitoring for cancers. In 2011 and 2012, he completed a second fellowship with Professor Stan Kaye at The Royal Marsden Hospital London for the Advanced Management of Gynaecological cancers.

Dr Chia is active in clinical trial research, and has developed numerous research protocols and trials for ovarian, cervical, colorectal, nasopharyngeal, and breast cancer. He has published widely in leading international journals, and holds numerous local and international research grants exceeding 10 million dollars – for research in immune check-point inhibitors, cancer vaccines, T cell therapy, Aspirin chemoprevention, and small molecule inhibitors for cancer. In 2010, he was awarded “Best Poster” for a tumour-specific cancer vaccine trial at the European Society of Medical Oncology, Milan (amongst several thousand submissions), and more recently “Best Poster Presentation” at ESMO Asia in 2017, for his clinical trial in aggressive ovarian cancer.

Dr Chia was the former Chief of the Gynaecology Oncology service in the Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre, and is Vice-President and founding board member of the Gynaecologic Cancer Group Singapore. He was also the former Adjunct Associate Professor at DUKE-NUS. He lectures widely, including in Japan, Korea, HK, China, UK – including plenary symposia lectures in Germany, Australia and ESMO Asia. Locally he has helped to write the Singapore ovarian and uterine cancer management guidelines (SCAN). He is the President of the GCGS (Gynecologic Cancer Group Singapore).

He is exco member of the Mt Elizabeth Novena Hospital medical board and the ex-chair of their Neoplasia committee. He is a member of the Parkway Independent Ethics committee since 2019, that oversees the review and approval of clinical trials, recruiting human subjects for novel therapies in the Parkways hospital system.

For more than 20 years, Dr Chia has run a busy clinical practice, managing complex Gynae-oncology. His sub-speciality interests include Ovarian, Endometrial, Cervical, Breast and Colorectal cancers – including the management of rare tumours – such as melanoma, uterine sarcomas, and germ cell tumours.

Dr Yvonne Loh is a haematologist with a special interest in haematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) and acute leukaemias. She is also one of few haematologists in the region with specific training in HCT for severe autoimmune diseases.

Dr Loh graduated from National University of Singapore, Faculty of Medicine in 1997 and was on the Dean’s List in both her first and final professional examinations. She obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2001 and completed her specialty training in Haematology in Singapore General Hospital in 2005. She was accorded Fellowship in the Academy of Medicine, Chapter of Haematology in 2005 and was awarded the SingHealth Health Manpower Development Award in 2006 to pursue training in Northwestern University in Chicago, the world leader in the field of transplant for autoimmune diseases. Before leaving for private practice, Dr Loh was Senior Consultant in the Department of Haematology and the Medical Director of the SGH HSCT program, as well as Director of its Acute Leukaemia Service. In that capacity, she was responsible for crafting the procedures to streamline the care of acute leukaemia patients from diagnosis through to allogeneic HCT. Dr Loh was the principal investigator of a number of acute leukaemia and transplant studies, and was actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and post-graduate level, being a Clinical Lecturer in the YLL School of Medicine from 2009-2012.

Dr Loh set up the haematopoietic cell transplant program in 2015 in Raffles Hospital, and in her 7 years there, grew the program, with many patients from Singapore, South East Asia and from Australia and New Zealand. Prior to leaving Raffles Hospital, she was the deputy chairperson of the Cancer cluster, the Chairperson of the Blood Transfusion and Tissue Committee, the co-chairperson of the Infection Control Committee and a member of the Transplant Committee. She is a member of the Ministry of Health Bone Marrow/Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Working Committee that is responsible for drafting the standards and protocols governing HCT activity under the Health Care Act. She is also a member of the American Society of Hematology and American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. Between 2007 and 2019, Dr Loh volunteered as a board member and medical advisor of the Bone Marrow Donor Program, an Institute of Public Character that operates Singapore’s registry of volunteer haematopoietic cell donors and coordinates transplant activity with international registries. She also volunteers her time with HealthServe, a charity providing medical care to migrant workers in Singapore.

Dr Loh is often invited to speak at local and regional meetings in the areas of acute leukaemia, transplant and post-transplant complications. She has also presented her research at international haematology conferences. She has served on the advisory boards of many pharmaceutical companies and been invited to speak at many educational events. She has numerous publications including in leading peer-reviewed journals like Blood, JAMA, Bone Marrow Transplantation and Lancet Neurology.

Dr Lynette Ngo is a medical oncologist who specializes in women’s cancers – breast and gynaecologic cancers including ovary, endometrial, uterine and cervical cancers.

Dr Ngo graduated from National University of Singapore in 1996. She further pursued a Master of Medicine degree in Internal Medicine and obtained her membership of the Royal College of Physicians in UK in 2002. She received her post graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine from Edith Cowan University in Australia in 2006 and obtained her specialist accreditation in medical oncology from the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2007. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society of Clinical Oncology (ESMO), Asian Society of Gynaecologic Oncology (ASGO) and Singapore Society of Oncology (SSO). She serves on the Singapore Cancer Network (SCAN) guidelines committee.

Prior to Curie Oncology, Dr Ngo practised at National Cancer Centre, Singapore (NCCS) from 2005 to 2012 before moving to Raffles Cancer Centre, Raffles Hospital from 2012 to 2019. Aside from being a Clinical Tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, she was also a Visiting Consultant to both KKWCH Gynaecologic Cancer Centre and KKWCH Breast Centre as well as to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. In addition, she spent 5 years caring for patients in hospice home care and in-patient hospice services in the community prior to joining NCCS.

Dr Ngo’s areas of interest are in breast and gynaecologic cancers, hereditary cancers and genetic counselling, psychosocial oncology and palliative medicine, in addition to general medical oncology. In pursuing her sub-specialty interest in gynaecologic cancers, Dr Ngo was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme Award to spend a year at the Gillette Center for Gynecologic Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), USA. In collaboration with the MGH gynaecologic oncology team, she designed and conducted several investigator-initiated clinical trials, testing novel drugs and treatment strategies in subsets of gynaecologic cancers with molecularly defined pathways. She had received a grant from the SingHealth Foundation for her research work and was involved in multiple clinical trials in Raffles Hospital focusing on breast and gynaecologic cancers. She has contributed to numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and written book chapters.

Recognizing the challenges faced by patients, caregivers, and even survivors, Dr Ngo started the Raffles Cancer Support Programme in April 2013 to provide education, psychosocial and emotional support throughout the cancer journey.

Dr Ngo has also completed the Intensive Course in Cancer Risk Assessment at City of Hope Hospital in California, USA from Oct 2017 to Mar 2018. She established the Hereditary Cancer Risk assessment clinic and genetic counselling in Raffles Hospital.
